TurboRub Introduction
TurboRub is a new form of cleaning pad that combines a material that is similar to clay bar with a tough resilient resin. These pads have the adhesive properties of clay bar yet are durable enough to be used over and over. This eco-friendly resin has both cohesive and adhesive properties. This makes it an effective cleaning pad that can also be washed for repeated uses.
The elasticity of the resin allows you to effectively and gently remove contaminants from your cars painted surface without scratching.
One of the great advantages of TurboRub, is that it is practically indestructible. Unlike a clay bar which will quickly become saturated with absorbed contaminants and need to be thrown away, the specially designed surface of TurboRub maintains an effective polishing surface and can endure for many repeated uses.
TurboRub can be used on headlights, grills, trim, wind-shields, and all painted surfaces. Using TurboRub before waxing and buffing is the ultimate means to protect your cars painted surfaces.
- How to Use TurboRub
- Preparation of the TurboRub Pad: Before using a TurboRub pad for the first time, the surface of the pad should be broken in. Following these steps will soften the pad and give the pad an even working surface
- When you are ready to use the TurboRub pad, apply a water-based lubricant to the TurboRub pad’s polymer surface.
- Apply some water-based lubricant onto a glass surface, such as the windshield.
- With the polymer side facing down, rub the TurboRub pad in circles to remove the protective coating on the pad.
- Using the TurboRub Pad
- For the best results while using TurboRub pads, it is recommended that you follow the following procedure:
- Allow time for all surfaces of the vehicle to cool down before using.
- Apply water-based lubricant* to the TurboRub pad and to the desired working area of the vehicle. Ensure that there is sufficient lubricant on the working area. The water-based lubricant will allow the TurboRub to glide smoothly over the surface and effectively lift off all surface contamination. *There are a variety of lubricants available, and most of these are nearly identical in performance, so any good brand will work. *Note: Due to the special nature of TurboRub, it is not solvent resistant. You should only use TurboRub with a water-soluble lubricant.
- Lightly move the pad forward, backward, and side to side to polish the surface. When you first start rubbing with the TurboRub, you will feel a slight resistance to the rubbing. As you continue polishing the surface, you will notice the rubbing becomes smoother and the surface becomes more lustrous.
- Polish the car in sections. Complete one panel at a time and wipe off excess residue with a microfiber cloth before moving on to the next panel. (If you are using a DA polisher, use it at a speed of 1.5-2.5 and keep it perpendicular to the vehicle surface.)
- 5. As contaminants are being lifted from the surface, the TurboRub pad should be regularly rinsed off. This will restore the adhesive properties of the polishing surface of the TurboRub pad.
- After contaminants have been removed with TurboRub, the surface can be wiped smooth and dried using a microfiber cloth. After wiping and drying, inspect the surface to be sure you haven’t missed any areas.
- After treating with TurboRub, you will want to follow up with your favorite wax. This will protect the surface from attracting further contamination, and will bring out the full luster of your cars painted surfaces.
